Description:

File Renamer to Last Modified
Version 1.0
July 22 2007

Compatibility:
- Java Runtime Environment (JRE); tested on 1.5 and higher but may work for older versions
- Tested on Windows XP but may work for other operating systems as well.

Using the Program:
This File Renamer was built for similar purpose as the EXIF JPEG Photo Renamer.  Originally, it served to rename videos that did not have EXIF information, however, it can rename any file type to the last modified date (it will ask for an extension type).  Like the EXIF Renamer, files with the same modified time will have an extra extension to its filename.
The program also allows you to shift the time by a desired number of seconds.  This is useful for renaming files from one computer to fit the time on another.  Negative numbers are accepted but you cannot input math expressions such as '2*60'.

To use the program, simply double-click and open the Run file.  If you know how to open Java jar files, go ahead and open the jar file.  Follow the simple directions stated in the program.

Tip: Indeed, the program uses a command prompt.  How to copy and paste long directory names? Right-click the window bar at top and choose Edit > Paste (after copying the path of course).

Author's Comments:
This Java program was originally created for my own personal use.  The lack of a user interface probably makes this most apparent.  However, the program is clear and simple to use.  It does exactly and only what it was intended for.
