Reading Memory

June 27th, 2009 | Posted by pftq in Blabberbox | #

First Image of Memory Being Made - I completely mistook the headline for implying that memory can be translated to an image (photo, scan).  For a moment, I thought we’d actually be able to scan our minds soon and save images off of them. :P

Guess that’s a little bit further in the future since they’re just now figuring out what memory in the brain even looks like (not the memory itself but the part of the brain that holds the memory - which isn’t really what the memory looks like but the memory container looks like… kinda like memory cards I guess - ack, confusing terms!).  I guess perhaps in the short term future, we can look forward more on learning to increase our memory or enhance.

Maybe one day we can buy extra proteins to enlarge our memory capabilities! :D (though I wouldn’t want a bigger head as a result of it)

Still, I’d really like to be able to make any image or sound just by thinking it - actually have some machine read the memory off my mind.  That would be useful…
